As each of us practitioners know, listening to God through the Holy Spirit is a critical element to any disciple making movement and therefore we have taught this concept many times in our own communities and around the world. It is a vital component to a 3/3 group, it is an element in the 1 hour prayer wheel, and it is important to any prayer walk.
.
Even so, it is highly beneficial if we press into this even harder during our personal prayer time and even throughout our daily activities. Because, what if the strength of our relationship with the Lord depended on it? Perhaps you have never thought of it that way. Think about the strongest relationships in your life. There is no doubt that those relationships have been forged in part through lots of time in conversation. It is through both speaking and listening that your relationships have grown strong. Not surprisingly, the same is true of our relationship with the Lord.
.
One thing is certain, God desires to speak to us even more than we desire to listen to him. Throughout the scriptures, God “speaks” to his people in a variety of ways...
• a particular scripture coming to mind (Acts 1:20; Acts 13:16)
• a picture or vision (Acts 10:11-17; Acts 16:9-10)
• a dream (Daniel 4:4-17; Daniel 7:1-14)
• an interpretation of a dream or vision (Daniel 4:18-27; Daniel 7:15-27)
• a picture or impression of a word (Acts 10:3)
• a sensation or pain in one’s body (Acts 9:8-9)
• a spiritual song (Acts 16:25; Ephesians 5:19)
• divinely sent messengers or angels (Acts 1:9-11; Acts 8:26) (Philip is told to go south to Gaza—that’s all—but along the way he bumps into a seeker, and it’s obvious to Philip this is the
reason he was told to come.)
• signs and wonders (Luke 23:44-45; Acts 5:18-21; Acts 9:36-42; Acts 12:6-11)
• restriction of movement and speech (Acts 16:6-8)
.
God is not limited in His ability to “speak” to us. He has even been known to use an ass (Numbers 22:21-39). The question is... “Are we willing and ready to listen?” Learn more at hubs.la/Q01GNLX30

From Madagascar:

"Thank you for your prayers, we were able to overcome the cyclone (hurricane)! The Lord allowed us to connect with other islands practitioners from the Indian Ocean. There were some connections for deeper collaboration within the region. We also had the opportunity to go an unengaged area in the bush to train new believers. We trained over 40+ believers and the key church planters requested us to train and coach."

Let's continue to pray for this Island! 🙏 Learn more about where we work at hubs.la/Q01DRzjn0
